Sports Massage
Sports massages are whole body, therapeutic massages. We combine deep tissue, swedish, and facilitated stretching techniques into an integrative massage to target commonly tight and restricted areas in your body. If you are an athlete or just an active person looking to maintain your body at it's peak performance, reduce pain and tightness, and improve musculoskeletal balance and posture, this is the option for you!
WHat do I wear to a Sports Massage?
We encourage our clients to dress down to their comfort level. All massages are conducted with clothes on and techniques can be applied over clothing when necessary. Keep in mind the therapist can be more effective the more skin is exposed, however we always encourage a safe and comfortable environment and encourage you to dress to your comfort level. Your massage therapist will allow you a few minutes to dress down before your massage and blankets or sheets can be applied if requested! At our open tables we require tank tops or racerbacks on top and shorts or tights on bottom.
Can I request More focus in one area?
Absolutely! We encourage you to have a dialogue with your massage therapist to tailor the massage to your needs. If you would like to focus your massage solely on one area, we recommend you book an injury specific massage instead of a sports massage.

Injury Specific Massage
Injury specific massages are designed to cut to the chase. When you have an injury or specific pain you are trying to address, we focus your therapeutic session on the task at hand and remove the fluff.
When Is an Injury specific Massage Useful?
If the issue is a chronic recurring issue (ie. chronic low back pain), injury specific massage can be very effective right away to reduce pain and improve range of motion. Following an acute injury (ie. sprained ankle) an injury specific massage becomes most productive a few days to one week after injury once the inflammation process starts to subside. Therapists are trained to recognize signs of inflammation and use specific techniques and pressures along the natural healing process to facilitate recovery.

Movement Rehabilitation
|
40 MIN ($80), 60 MIN ($120) |
Movement Rehabilitation Therapy (MRT) is an alternative therapy designed for those looking to get to the root cause of their musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction. Therapists use the latest techniques in movement assessment and re-training to determine and correct bio-mechanical flaws in movement, strength, stability, mobility, and posture that may be influencing your pain and dysfunction. MRT is an alternative therapy, many people use MRT as a replacement (when advised) or in conjunction with Physical Therapy, Chiropractic, Acupuncture, Massage, Personal Training, etc.
Is MRT right for my Specific Issue?
MRT is a great option for almost anyone suffering from chronic musculoskeletal aches, pains, and injuries. MRT is not for anyone in the initial stages of acute injury (ie. ACL Tear, Sprained Ankle, Broken Bones, etc.). If you think you may be experiencing any of these injuries we recommend you contact a medical professional immediately. If you are unsure if this option is applicable for your issue please book a free 10 minute phone consultation with a therapist today!
HOw Long DOes MRT Take?
Unfortunately there is no definite answer to this question. Everyones body, lifestyle, stress levels, and nervous systems are different and therefore there can be widely varying times of recovery. We typically see recovery times from long standing chronic issues taking between 3-6 months and sometimes as fast as a few weeks! Sessions are held weekly or bi-weekly.
What does a session of MRT Look Like?
Typically sessions of MRT work based off a mobilize then stabilize model. If there is pain or mobility restriction present the therapist will utilize manual therapy techniques to decrease pain or improve range of motion. Followed by stabilization and strength building exercises to facilitate holding to the manual work. A major portion of MRT is client education, you will be asked to supplement your in person work with exercises from home.
Are there package options?
Yes! We provide a package of 12, 1-hour long sessions for $1,200. Giving you a savings of $20/session ($240 total savings).
